Description
General Nathanael Greene Cottage on Cumberland Island in Georgia. When the Revolutionary War began, he was the lowest rank, a militia private. However, by the time the war was over, he had become a major general of the Continental Army and has a reputation as George Washington’s most gifted and dependable officer.
