Ron Ciervo – Woolworth Store ,
Tampa
Description
The original Woolworth building was constructed on this site in 1916 and subsequently remodeled in 1940 which accounts for what remains of its “art deco” exterior. The Woolworth store has been closed since 1992, and the adjacent historic Kress building has been boarded up since 1981. (the Kress Bldg. was added to the U.S. national Register of Historic Places on April 7, 1983)
