Description

The Hook and Ladder Company in front of the Fire Department headquarters on Zack Street. Unlike most cameras today, where a relatively sharp photograph can be taken in a fraction of a second, older photographs required longer exposure times. This meant that the subjects, in this case the firemen, stand perfectly still for the duration of the photograph. On the sidewalk on the right side of the photo, you will notice what appears to be two blurry object, presumable two people walking.
