Vinoy II ,
St Petersburg Map
Description
The entrance of the Vinoy Hotel. There is now a roof over the entrance so so when you valet park your car, you are protected from the elements. Unfortunately, it looks like this addition required the removal of the three vase-like features on the top of the archway.
Thanks Mary Anna Murphy of MAM Exhibit Design for scanning this photo for me!

Sucks about the vase like sculptures removed. I hope they are preserved & displayed inside hotel. I would’ve avoided any alteration to this beautiful facade piece!!
That’s a good question. I went inside the hotel to take some interior shots. However, there were signs everywhere that said “For the privacy of our guests and for your safety, no photograph is allowed”. I took a handful of photos and then left, with plans to return another day with a smaller, less obtrusive camera. Unfortunately, in my rush I did not have too much time to explore. On another note, check out this photo I found on Flickr of the hotel during renovation.
