The American Leather Company on Tampa Street. Notice that the overhang in the front of the building is still in place.

This pair-up fits like a glove! You can see where they added in and closed off the garage door entrance. This art-deco style was typical of the 40s, with the rounded corners of the front facade. I wish they would bring this style back.
This is the kind of building the majority of people take no notice of. It’s hard to believe that sixty years ago it was much nicer looking.
I pass this often…sad that it is an eyesore now. I wish it remained in its original beuaty. Is this an Asian market now?
Yes, this building is being used as the Oceanic Supermarket. I also took a re-photograph of the building from the Franklin/Kay intersection which I’ll try to post soon.
Byran, do you have any photos of what used to stand on the property due north of this 1609. I am the owner of the law firm that presently sits at 1635 N. Tampa St.
