Description

The Crane Plumbing Company building, on Twiggs Street, was built in 1925. Below are some other photos of the building and supply yard. Notice crops of the first three photos, from 1925, 1926, and 1930, respectively. The wooden street sign called the intersection Twiggs & Meridian. Then the sign got damaged in the next photo. In the third photo, the street sign has been replaced by a concrete marker, now showing the intersection as Elliot & Meridian. Today, the intersection is once again called Twiggs & Meridian.

    How sad that we have lost another great historic treasure. Small minds have no empathy for historic preservation and thus we see more buildings fall every year. The families that worked in this building had great memories. They have my sympathy for their loss.
