Age of Tampa Bay
This map shows the age of the building located on each parcel, as reported by the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser’s and the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s offices. While there are some fairly obvious errors, such as The University of Tampa, MacDill Air Force Base, and Fort Desoto, and aside from the occasional mislabeled “historic parcel”, the map gives a pretty good representation of the age of various buildings and neighborhoods in the two counties. As you explore, be sure to move your mouse over the parcels to reveal the reported age and location of each structure.
I was inspired to make this map after seeing Block by Block, Brooklyn’s Past and Present and Portland Oregon: The Age of a City.
